The Argument

Of course, a woman should have the right to control her own body. Plus, it's not a question of moralty, its a question of public health. Women have been doing it, and will continue doing it whether it's illegal or not, with devastating consequences to their health. We need to get it out of the back alleys. What we need is legalization, with proper licensing and proper health treatment for women.

Oh yeah, Nevada is considering the legalization of prostitution.

Officially Old

There's no more "cute" label. I'm well past "middle age", and have become, by any definition, a "senior citizen". It's no longer relevant that I "retired early" since I'm now past "retirement age".
I'm not quite sure how to behave. When I was younger, I came to have certain expectations of old folks. They had aches and pain and they fell asleep at odd times, but they showed a kind of wisdom that came from their life experience.
Now, I have slowed down some, and I do nap sometimes during the evening news, but my aches and pains are few. As for the wisdom thing, I'm real disappointed. I had hoped to have things figured out by now.
Maybe the wisdom I thought I saw was merely a recognition of the reality that the the big questions of life are unanswerable, and a willingness to let them be. I'm not there yet.
