Some Things I Think I Think
- As troubling as it is that there is some portion of the electorate that will not vote for Barrack Obama because he's black, there is another portion of the electorate who WILL vote for him precisely because he's black. Who's racist?
- We have neither the ability nor the willingness to enforce our country's immigration laws. With 12 million illegals, many of whom work in jobs that are critical to, if not our economy, then our comfort, to imprison them, or to send them home and keep them out would be a nightmare. Yet we can't seem to agree on what kind of laws we can reasonably adopt. So we tolerate a culture of lawlesssness that undermines our society.
- Thomas Friedman, who may be the most intellectually honest columnist I've ever read, says that Sarah Palin is no more qualified to be Vice President than any of the first 100 names you pick out of the telephone book. My question to John McCain, what were you thinking?
